She is survived by: her sons, Christopher of New York City and Jason Talsness (Alexandra); her grandchildren, Peter, Ana and Helena Talsness of Savannah, Georgia.; her brother Tom Garten (Holly) of Minneapolis; her stepdaughter Nancy Lawrence of Long Prairie; her stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Tara; and her nephews, Anton Garten (Jennell), Matt Garten of Minneapolis, James Hurst (Jessica) and Sean Lesher of Backus, Minnesota..

A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM and on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your local chapter of American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or the Michael J. Fox foundation to accelerate a cure for Parkinson's disease.
