He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clifford Thomas and Thelma Louise Deason Thomas; and his sister Ann Thomas Myrick. He is survived by: his wife Victoria "Vicki"; and his brothers, Dr. James Thomas of Charleston, SC and Arthur Thomas of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
