We are sad to announce that on July 27, 2025, at the age of 93, Louis Vernon McMichael Jr. (Savannah, Georgia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Louis Vernon departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Louis Vernon may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Louis Vernon leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis V McMichael and Myrtle McMichael; his wife Betty Conaway McMichael; and his son Robert E Barker Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Debbie Parrish Bacon (Buddy) of Statesboro, Donna Anne McMichael Merriman (Steve) of Savannah and Louis V McMichael III (Christie) of Mt Pleasant, SC.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren (and 2 on the way!), 4 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Gamble Funeral Service (410 Stephenson Ave, Savannah, GA 31405).
