He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeWitt and Mary Whalen Ware; his wife Elizabeth; his daughter Anne Ware Lewis; and his siblings, Rosemary Ware, Jack Ware (Madge), Rev. Joseph Ware, Jerry Ware and Tommy Ware (Agnes).
He is survived by: his children, Michael Edward Ware, Jr., Mary Ware Jacobs (Greg) and Megan Ware Coomer (Stephen); his son-in-law Brad Lewis; his grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle Lewis, Maddie Carter (Ty), Caroline Coomer, Savannah, Peyton Ware, Jack and Emma Jacobs; and his siblings-in-law, Kathleen Powers Sanfilippo (Bob) and Hank Richardson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (1003 E Victory Dr, Savannah, GA 31405). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at the Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery (1600 Wheaton St, Savannah, GA 31404).
