We are sad to announce that on July 25, 2025, at the age of 101, Mildred Croom of Savannah, Georgia, born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mildred Croom to pay them a last tribute.
Though Mildred may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mildred touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Grundmann and William Grundmann; her former husbands, Donald Thigpen and Bill; her son Donald Thigpen Jr.; her son-in-law Richard Edwards (Georgia); and her stepchildren, Jenny Croom and David Croom.
She is survived by: her children, Georgia Edwards and Kirk Thigpen (Martha); and her stepdaughters, Pam Traynor (Bud) and Billie Keller (Gregg). She is also survived by loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel (4605 US-80, Savannah, GA 31410). A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park (1600 Wheaton St, Savannah, GA 31404).
