He was predeceased by: his parents, John Montgomery Jones and Willie Pearl Dye Jones; and his siblings, Lamar Jones, Harvard Jones, Johnny Jones Jr., Mary Willie Jones (J. W.) and Christine Jones Frost Watts (John).
He is survived by: his wife Jan Jones; his son Kendell Green (Brittney); his grandchildren, Cadence Grace Comstock, Kember Elizabeth Green and Pearson Ruddell Green; his sisters, Nellie Jones Powell and Mabel Hodges; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Jones and Linda Pearson Kearns (Johnny). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes – West Chatham Chapel (901 US-80, Pooler, GA 31322). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Funeral Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes – West Chatham Chapel (901 US-80, Pooler, GA 31322). The military honors will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902).
