He is survived by : his wife Sandra; his children, Scott Douglas Ummel of Evanston, IL, Christine Beth Achterkirch of Houston, TX, Andrea Lynn Grage and Sarah Ann Berg of Savannah, GA.; his grandchildren, Peter Achterkirch, Charlotte Achterkirch, Claire Achterkirch, David Achterkirch, William Ummel, Louisa Ummel, Nathaniel Ummel, Neale Grage, Gwyneth Grage, Henry Berg, Katherine Berg and Charles Berg; his great grandchild Freya Johnson; and his sister Diane Strandberg (Gene) of Lakewood Ranch, FL..
