He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Thornton of Screven; his children, Jennifer Rebecca Johnson (Chris) of Reidsville, Jaime Marie Thornton of Brunswick, Aaron James Thornton (Bethany) of Guyton and Miranda Lynn James (Jerry) of Baxley; his grandchildren, Chrissy Mobley (Sean), Rebecca Leigh Kirkland (Trey), David Larry Hallman (Courtney), Jesse Gage James, Sydney Yvonne McNeal, John Brint McNeal, Anniston Jade Thornton, Bayne Morris Thornton and Jaycee Leanne James; and his brother Jerry Thornton (Kathleen) of Bristol. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
