With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Kent of Silver Creek, Georgia, who passed away on September 28, 2025 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jim Kent to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, A. J. Kent and Bertha Byrd Kent; his former wife Sharon Kent; his stepson David Moates; Stephen Kent.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" Kent; his children, Mike Kent of Austin, Dave Kent (Sunny) of Waterford and Debbie Coglio (Al) of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; his stepchildren, Tina Holder (Steve) of Rockmart and H. Alan Moates of Taylorsville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Meghan Wilkins and Matthew Coglio; his stepgrandchildren, Shane Holder (Carissa), Jessica Kittle (Brian) and Allie Moates; his stepgreat-grandsons, Colton Brown and Harrison Holder; his brother Chris Kent (Cheryl); and his pets, Josie and Annie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the South Chapel (3002 Maple Rd SE, Rome, GA 30161). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Aragon Cemetery (55 GA-101, Aragon, GA 30104).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Silver Creek Methodist Church in honor of Jim.
