He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Holmes Whiten and Leona Carroll Whiten; and his brother Larry Joe Whiten. He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Whiten Krivsky (Emmett); his granddaughter Emma of Clayton; and his sister Connie Whiten Pearson (Tim) of Seneca, SC..
