He is survived by: his wife Martha Akins; his children, Jane Higgins (Michael), Lynn Alexander (Keith) and Mark Akins (Marcia); his grandchildren, Joshua Akins (Natalie), David Akins (Hilary) and Audrey Stone (Todd); and his great grandchildren, Asa and Olivia Akins.
