She was predeceased by: her parents, Elias Westerband and Mary Rebecca Richards; her son Perry Jr.; and her husband Perry F. Simms Sr. (Buster). She is survived by: her siblings, Oliver, Octavius, Arthur, Halvor, Mirriam, Cynthia and Edna; her daughters, Mary Simms Remsen (Ronald), Deborah Simms and Bowles; her grandchildren, Michele (Douglas), Stephanie and Christopher; her great grandchildren, Maurice, Darien and Xavier; her great great grandchildren, Tre, Darien Jr., Maurice Jr., Zuri and Milahni; and her sister-in-law Bernice Simms. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
