He was predeceased by: his children, Marie Sharpe and Dennis Sharpe; his siblings, Faye Collins, Buddy Sharpe, Sudie Fowler, Martin Sharpe, W. E. Sharpe, Jessie Sharpe, Houston Sharpe and Bill Sharpe; and his granddaughters, Sierra and Candy Sharpe.
He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Mae Thigpen; his sons, James Allen "Jimmy" Sharpe of Vidalia, GA and Donnie Sharpe of Soperton, GA; his siblings, Howell Sharpe (Kathy) of Lyons, GA and Louise Blair of Vidalia, GA; and his grandchildren, Jimmy Dewayne Sharpe Jr. (Danielle) and Amber Brooke Sharpe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
