It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shelby Jean Mason of Soperton, Georgia, who passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Scott and Dovie Mae Davis Scott; her husband Bobby Mason of Soperton; her son-in-law Steven Brown; and her siblings, Donnie Scott and Mary Jane Campbell.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Mason (Becky) of Soperton, GA, Donnie Mason (Gail) of Vidalia, GA, Jeff Mason (Cathy) of Soperton, GA and Wendy Mason of Soperton, GA; her brothers, Dofus Scott of Vidalia and Tony Scott (Sharon) of Vidalia; her grandchildren, Danielle Barwick (Chris), Todd Mason (Deanna), D. J. Mason (Lindsey), Cari Dixon (Ryan), Tabatha Nobles (Derrick), Duston Bateman (Shannon), Brian Mason (Chanta), Gregory Mason (Jessi), Laura Thompson (Erin) and Caylan Mason (Taylor); and her great grandchildren, Emma Rae, Christopher, Presley Kate, Darci, Bryar, Ivey, Brock, Dax, Jase, Luke, Mia, Evie, Trigg, Alaysia, Ashlynn, Ivy and Jackson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sammons Funeral Home (4201 W Main St, Soperton, GA 30457). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Williams Chapel at Sammons Funeral Home (4201 W Main St, Soperton, GA 30457). A graveside service was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Ferguson Cemetery.
In lieu of thoughtful, covered, dishes being brought to the family's homes, donations are encouraged to be made in her memory to the Soperton Church of God, 6359 GA Hwy 29, Soperton, GA 30457.
