Allen Burrell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Allen Burrell of Statesboro, Georgia, born in Preston, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 16, 2025 at the age of 57. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Burrell and Janice Burrell; and his brothers, Mike Burrell and David Burrell. He is survived by: his husband Mitch Johnson; his brother Ricky Askew (Gay); his mother-in-law Shirley Wilkes; his aunts, Melba Burrell (Charles) and Marel Burrell; his siblings-in-law, Vicki Thompson (Bill) and Jeff Johnson (Wendy Stanfield); his sibling's children, April Burrell Burney (Jeremy), Kaitlyn Atkeison and Chris Burrell; and his cousins, Carla Burrell Stanford (Chris), Jason Burrell (Emily), Ken Burrell and Jennifer King.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the North Decatur United Methodist Church (1523 Church St, Decatur, GA 30030-1590). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation in Allen's memory be made to his home church, North Decatur United Methodist Church 1523 Church St. Decatur, GA 30030.
