We are sad to announce that on October 20, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Carlton Smith (Statesboro, Georgia), born in Fitzgerald, Georgia. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carlton Smith (Bill) and Marcelle Hunter Smith; his siblings, Matthew Smith, Ralph Smith and Dorothy Reed; and his brother-in-law Tim Walston.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Clifton Smith; his daughter Nina Townsend (Charles); his grandchildren, Charlie and Emma-Charles of Statesboro, GA; his siblings, Juanita Gatch of Charleston, Jackie Walston of Foxfield, Ward Smith of St Petersburg, Mabel Stallings (Perry) of Raleigh, Kenneth Smith (Marcia) of Snellville, Alice Prescott (Billy) of Fitzgerald and Rhonda Pridgen (Robert) of Wray, Georgia; and his siblings-in-law, Ginny Smith of Lexington and Steve Reed of Macon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory (502 Miller St Ext, Statesboro, GA 30458). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Clifton Family Cemetery.
To honor his memory, donations may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation or to a local Animal Shelter, both causes close to his heart.
