She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Carlton Jarriel and Evvie P Runnie Whitaker; her husband Harold D. Lanier, Sr.; her siblings, Walter Tommy Jarriel, Edward "Bo" Jarriel, Ray Franklin Jarriel and Evelyn Jarriel Neal; and her grandson Wyatt Parker Lanier.
She is survived by: her children, Harold Dwight Lanier, Jr. (Paula) of Commerce, Melody Ann Lanier of Statesboro and Mary Elizabeth Moore (Edwin Lee) of Athens. She is also survived by five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
