John Ivey Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2025, at the age of 83, John Ivey of Statesboro, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harris Ivey and Kitty Lowe Ivey; his daughter Tammy Phillips; and his siblings, H. L. Ivey, Carolyn Daley and Francis Murphey.
He is survived by: his sons, John "Melvin" Ivey of Metter and Kyle Ivey (Casey) of Guyton; his siblings, Bobby (Debro), Timmy Ivey and Yvonne Zelt; his grandchildren, Shelby Phillips, Patrick Ivey, Payton Ivey and Wyatt Ivey; and his great grandchildren, Luke and Harley Ivey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kennedy Funeral Home - Hooks Chapel (223 SW Broad St, Metter, GA 30439). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church (4025 Friendship Church Rd, Statesboro, GA 30458). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
