He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Osborne Smith and Rose Elizabeth Chamberlain Smith; and his siblings, Catherine Childress, Margaret Kerr, Bill Smith, Ruth Elliot, Gertrude King and Edna Stephens.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Smith; his children, Mike Smith (Angie) and Cheryl Kaschak (Mike); his grandchildren, Heather Thompson, Bryan Smith (Mary), James Smith, Kody Terry, Kyle Terry, Michael Kaschak and Nicholas Kaschak; and his great grandchildren, Luke Thompson, Taylore-Anne Smith, Kaylie Smith, Raymond Perez (Alexandra), Riley Clawson, Reagan Clawson and Bryson Smith. He is also survived by three brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Eastern Heights Baptist Church in memory of Max Smith, 23805 US-80, Statesboro, GA 30461.
