He was predeceased by: his son Michael John Medders, Jr. of Buena Vista, GA; and his parents, John L. Medders and Eva Medders. He is survived by: his wife Janie Marlow Medders of Statesboro, GA; his daughter Michelle Medders Rushing (Mark Rushing) of Statesboro, GA; his daughter-in-law Leigh Rogers Medders; his grandchildren, Shannon Nicole Rushing of Statesboro, GA, Christopher Elliott Rushing of Statesboro, GA, Michael John Medders III, Emily Frances "Emmy" Medders of Atlanta, GA and Thomas Benson Hobbs Medders "Bense" of Buena Vista, GA; his great grandchild Aizen Ezekiel Sewell; and his sister Janice McGinnis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory (502 Miller St Ext, Statesboro, GA 30458).
