He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lehmon Dekle and Lula Mae Dekle; his former wife Florence Dekle (Sissy); and his granddaughter Carsyn Parry Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Jane Dekle of Register, GA.; his children, Lehmon Dekle (Karen) of Clemson, SC, Stephen Dekle (Carol) of Statesboro, GA, Lake O'Donnell (Ashley) of St. Augustine, FL, Deanna Hodnicki of Jacksonville, FL and Celena Hughes (Jody) of Richmond Hill, GA; his grandchildren, Laura Cohran (Cameron), Jack Dekle, Grace Webb (Mac), Sallie Hegler (Aaron), Gregory Dekle (Shermida), Peter Dekle, Julie Pye (Ethan), Kalei Dekle, Justin Hodnicki, Alexander Hodnicki, Cade Hughes, Cohen Hughes and Lake Olivia O'Donnell; and his siblings, Johnnie Dekle (Pat) of Evans, GA, Bonnie Howard (Ralph) of Register, GA and Mary Ose (Al) of Hot Springs, AK. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (108 N Main St, Statesboro, GA 30458). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery (1804 Upper Lotts Creek Church Rd, Statesboro, GA 30458).
