He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacqueline Abrams Butler and William "Bill" Ezra Butler; his daughter Shannon Shalane Butler; and his brothers-in-law, Ronald "Ronnie" Lee, Eric Durden and Gary Thigpen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Stacy Butler (Ben Bizzelle), Steffani Jackson, Meghan Lewis (Steven) and Cassidie Butler; and his sisters, Glenda Lee, Sherry Durden and Willette Thigpen. He is also survived by nine granddaughters, five grandsons, and several dearly loved nieces and nephews.
