He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Thurmond and Selma Thurmond; and his siblings, Roger Thurmond, Patsy Boulineau and Judy Thurmond.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Thurmond of Carnesville; his children, Joni Maynard (Joe) of Martin, Hope Botts (Brian) of Martin, Jay Thurmond (April) of Carnesville and Cody Thurmond of Carnesville; his grandchild Shaia Monnier (Bash) of Alto; his children, Sadie Cleveland (Jaxson) of Martin, Skylar Holbrooks (James) of Martin, Sierria Parks (Sam) of Jacksonville, NC, Mark Maynard (Taylor) of Chesapeake, VA, Kylee Beatenbough (Ethan) of Royston, Hunter Botts (Ivey) of Toccoa, John Botts of Martin, Cole Thurmond (Jocelyn) of Royston, Austin, Kassy, Mitch, Annabelle Thurmond of Carnesville, Keri Lumley (Avery) of Canon, Destiny Thurmond of Carnesville, Sofia Maynard of Martin and Skarlet Thurmond of Warner Robins; and his siblings, Joe Dan Thurmond of Carnesville, Geneva Savage of Toccoa, Jimmy Thurmond (Darlene) of Carnesville, Cathy Thackston of South Carolina and David Thurmond (Elizabeth) of Homer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
