He was predeceased by: his parents, L. B. Massey and Roxie Massey; his brothers, Robert Massey, James L Massey and Melvin Massey; and his son-in-law Walter Weller.
He is survived by: his children, Gail Weller, John H Massey (Louann) and Pat Pruitt (Dean); his grandsons, Greg Weller (Kati) and Brad Pruitt (Lacey); his stepgrandson Jerry Henderson (Jennifer); his great grandchildren, Grady Weller, Rhett Weller, Hannah Pruitt, Austin Pruitt, Kaitlyn Henderson and Lauren Henderson; and his siblings, Bernice Massey of North Carolina, Beatrice Cook of North Carolina, Lou Blair of North Carolina, Frank Massey (Mary) of North Carolina, David Massey of North Carolina, Becky Mitchell of North Carolina, Alice Allen of North Carolina and Jean Mills (Steve) of North Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was also a really good bridge player and played until Covid.
