He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Brooks and Dovie Suggs Brooks; his wife Myra Whitten Brooks; his son Grady Carlton Brooks; and his siblings, Evelyn Webb and Clinton Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Carla Elaine Chafin (Bryant) and Christopher Brooks (Carin); and his grandchildren, Nancy Wynn, Michael Chad Scott, Steven Mobley, Adam Mobley, Kayla Harrellson, Anna Hancock, Heather Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Deven Brooks, Stephanie Henderson, Jennifer Brooks and Mandy Moore. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Banks Funeral Home (210 N Main St, Sylvester, GA 31791). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Sumner Cemetery (161 Sumner Rd S, Sumner, GA 31789).
