He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Earl Baumgardt and Hattie Ada Johns Baumgardt; his son James Benjamin "Bud" Baumgardt; and his siblings, Bubby Baumgardt, Tommy Baumgardt and Jo Sherry Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Laverne Baumgardt of Surrency; his children, Lynn Davidson (Toby) of Surrency, Rhonda Baumgardt of Baxley and Jeff Baumgardt (Mae) of Surrency; and his grandchildren, Lacey Pope (Johnny), Chad Davison, Christian Williams (Zack), Zack Collins, Cassie Mincey (Lee) and Rodney Blackmon (Missy). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Swain Funeral Home (1632 Hatch Pkwy N, Baxley, GA 31513). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
