She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Wood and Wilma Amos; and her stepfather Jack Amos of Indianapolis, IN.. She is survived by: her husband James S. Childress (Jim); her sons, Scott of Cartersville, GA, Mike (Tanya) of Fort Myers, FL and Kelly (Wendy) of Oxon Hill, MD.; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Denis) of Blairsville, GA, Lydia of Fort Myers and Cooper of Fort Myers; her great grandchildren, Jaxson of Blairsville and Zadie of Blairsville; and her sisters, Bobbie of Carmel, IN, Jenny of Carmel, IN and Sally of Clyde, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the United Service Organization (USO) in lieu of flowers.
