He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnie Caviness and Pearl Sims Caviness; his sisters, Dorothy Lacy and Margaret Stork Fletcher; his children, Steve Caviness and Deborah Hudspeth; and his sons-in-law, James Hudspeth and Roy "Donny" Brogdon.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Clark Caviness; and his children, Andrew Caviness (Fonda) of Suwanee and Sandra Brogdon of Suwanee. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
