He was predeceased by: his parents, Garvin McCarley and Madrue McCarley; his children, Tammy McCarley and Gary McCarley; and his grandson Slade Petty.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Skelton McCarley; his children, Chris Petty (Dana Weaver) of Duluth, Yancey Petty of Suwanee, GA and Michelle Peace of Winder, GA; and his grandchildren, Brendan Petty, Caleb Petty, Heather McCarley Roberts, Matthew Cheatham and Robert McCarley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Louis W. McCarley.
