Barbara Atkinson Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Atkinson of Swainsboro, Georgia, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on July 1, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas Dempsey Davis and Lois "Lattie" Thomas Davis; and her brother Tommy Davis. She is survived by : her former life partner Britt Waters; her husband Charles Atkinson; her sons, Chuck Waters (Kay) of Atlanta and Kevin Waters of Atlanta; her stepsons, Chip Atkinson (Corin) of Tucson, Michael Atkinson (Maureen) of Cherry Hill and Dan Atkinson (Tricia) of Tabernacle; and her grandchildren, Sarah Waters of Atlanta, Lauren Waters of Atlanta, Cooper Waters of Atlanta, Reese Waters of Atlanta, Grace Best of Tucson, Emily Kew of Tucson, Matthew Atkinson of Tucson, Zachary Atkinson of Tucson, Abigail Atkinson of Tucson, Jacob Atkinson of Tucson, Amanda Atkinson of Cherry Hill, Kylie Atkinson of Cherry Hill, Shannon Atkinson of Tabernacle and Finn Atkinson of Tabernacle. She is also survived by mother and doting grandmother to her sons and grandchildren.
