It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ginny Lockhart Smith of Swainsboro, Georgia, born in Sandersville, Georgia, who passed away on March 3, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, William Henry Lockhart, Sr. and Mary Ellen Sheram Lockhart; and her siblings, Alice Anne Lockhart Flemister and William Henry Lockhart, Jr.. She is survived by : her husband DeSaussure Dugas "Dess" Smith III of Swainsboro; her children, Mary Ellen Smith of Swainsboro, Anna Kate Smith Willoughby (Kenneth) of Canoochee, DeSaussure Dugas "Dessie" Smith IV (Terri) of Swainsboro and Richard Torpin Smith, II (Kaytee) of Garner, N. C.; her grandchildren, Nicole Prine (Jacob), Jordan Hooks (Samantha), Sally Mathews (Pratt), Smith Willoughby, Wessyn Willoughby and Torpin Smith; and her great grandchildren, Hadley Prine, Joe Prine, Ansley Prine, Hollis Brannen, Harden Hooks, Hudson Mathews and Sarah Mathews. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to The First United Methodist Church missions committee at 319 West Main St, Swainsboro, Ga 30401 or a charity of choice.
