He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora C. H. Green and Cicero Hughes; his sister Rose Lee Hughes; and his sons, Levi Legrant Hughes and Bobby Gene Mincey.
He is survived by: his brothers, Ulysses Grant Hughes, Cicero Alvin Hughes and Lawson Hughes (Janet); and his children, Betty Jean Hughes, Constance Denise Hughes, Phillip Irvin Levi Hughes, Bennett Sutton Jr., Victor Sutton, Jermaine Smith (Angel Miles), Eva Collins, Franchester Turner (Garner Turner), Allison Phillips (Leonardo Oglesby), Ruby Sutton and Janice Sutton. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
