It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lewis Claxton of Swainsboro, Georgia, who passed away on April 14, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elder William Claxton and Nannie Lou Hudson Claxton; his wife Linda Watkins Claxton; his stepmother Sarah Hudson Claxton; his brother Harold Claxton; and his close friend Catherine Kirby.
He is survived by: his children, Lesa Edwards, Barbara Williamson, Jane Claxton, Betty Blalock (Shane) and Roy Smith (Linda); his stepsisters, Judy Moore (Russell), Barbara Strickland (Allen) and Jessie Garrett (Donnie); his brother-in-law Glen Watkins (Tammy); his grandchildren, Steven Edwards (Leslie), Matthew Edwards (Kelsi McElroy), Tyler Williamson (Holly), Faith Page (Brandon), Tammie Callaway (Chance), Katelyn Hooks (John), Bill Hackle (Nikki), Ryan Blalock, Ashley Blalock, Kayte Blalock and Morgan Blalock; his great grandchildren, Dylan Edwards (Emilie), Baylee Edwards, Ashton Edwards, Karson McElroy, Danni Lynn Williamson, Demi Williamson, Denver Williamson, Weston Page, Collins Page, Gannon Williford, Chandler Callaway, Karsyn Callaway, Madilyn Hooks, Tucker Hooks, Eli Hackle, Baylor Hackle, Ansley Crosby, Avery Crosby, Ava Crosby and Leah Osborne; and his nieces, Karen Underwood (David), Laura Tompkins (Billy), Jill Usher (Tom) and Julie Love (Andy).
