He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Henry Godbee, Sr. and Mabel Oglesby Godbee; the mother of his children Glenda Godbee; his siblings, Raiford Godbee, Roy Godbee, Ralph Godbee, Wayne Godbee, Lena Godbee, Reba Godbee, Julia Godbee, Eunice G Coursey, Barbara G Boyd, Evelyn G Cooper and Myrtle G Sheffield; and his son-in-law Joseph Ross Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Lori Scott, Lisa Harper (Bill), Melinda Sutton (Russ) and John Godbee (Patti); his grandchildren, Mary Helen Bozard (Alan) and Allison Scott Butler (Caleb); and his great grandchildren, Brody Ondriezek, Berklee Bozard, Jessie Kate Butler and Carsyn Butler. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
