He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Melvin Curtis Tanner, II, Rachel Ruarks (Tom) of Newington and Sarah Braswell (Troy) of Metter; his grandchildren, Braden, Jacob Tanner, Charles Patterson, Tesa Edenfield (Bryan), Eric Braswell, Emily, Elaina and Tommy Ruarks; and his siblings, Retha, Ruth, Shirley, James and Wilbur. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, and 2 aunts.
