He was predeceased by: his parents, Bura Clanton and Sarah Cowart Clanton; his children, Dorothea Clanton and George Clements; and his siblings, Dorothy Jean Arant and Ronald Clanton.
He is survived by: his wife Janice McDonald Clanton; his children, Sonya Dillard, Kim Monk, Patricia Clanton, Dee Dee Dillard, Kathy Dobbs, Rex Clements and Wendy Clements; and his siblings, June Kalesavich and Donald Clanton. He is also survived by thirty two grandchildren, fifty four great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Banks Funeral Home (210 N Main St, Sylvester, GA 31791). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at the Providence Church Cemetery (3835 GA-313, Sylvester, GA 31791).
