He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock Claxton and Annie Brantley Claxton; his son Joel Claxton; his grandson Wil Ramsey; and his siblings, Horace Claxton, Edwin Claxton and Sandra Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Memory Claxton; his children, Greg Claxton (Karen), Marty Morris (Mary) and Ginger McRae (Philip); his grandchildren, Les Ramsey, Kevin Morris, Charlie Morris, Corey Claxton, Troy Claxton and Hannah Autry; and his sisters, Hortense Barnes, Velma Bryan and Dorothy Day. He is also survived by brother-in-law JH Memory, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home (310 North St W, Vidalia, GA 30475). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3429 GA Hwy 29, Vidalia, GA 30474.
