He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Horace Childs and Kathryn Paul Childs; his wife Sharon Folden Childs of Blairsville; his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Jeremy Keller of Columbus, OH.; his son Randy; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Childs of Jacksonville Beach, FL.; his brother Hiram; his sister-in-law Linda Childs of Lake Placid, FL.; and his grandchildren, Edna Grace Keller, Augusta Lee Keller, Harrison Rusty Childs and Marshall Austin Childs.
