He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lee DeFreese, Sr. and Lynda Bennett Beavers; and his sister Melissa Garrett. He is survived by: his wife Vicki DeFreese; his children, Donald DeFreese and Lisa Thomas (Chris); his sister Sonya DeFreese (Larry Adams); his grandchildren, Lindsey, Tiffany, Savannah, Isabelle, Marietta and James; and his great grandchildren, Brysen, Barbra and Novahlee.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitley Garner Funeral Home (8640 Rose Ave, Douglasville, GA 30134). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Liberty Christian Church (1689 Liberty Church Rd, Temple, GA 30179).
