He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Hill Fowler and Gertrude Hudson Fowler. He is survived by: his wife Bonelle Elaine Bray Fowler of Thomaston; his daughters, Laurie Riley (Kevin) of Covington and Julie Deal (Brian) of Rincon; his brother Donald Fowler (Jackie) of Fayetteville; and his grandchildren, Jim Hinds, Elizabeth Deal, Ben Deal, Matt Riley and Katherine Deal.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Upson Gideon Camp at P.O. Box 1034 Thomaston, GA 30286.
