He is survived by: his wife Margaret Fowler Carithers of Thomaston; his children, Denise Chatfield of Thomaston and Eddie Carithers of Thomaston; his brother Ralph Carithers (Christa) of Thomaston; his grandchildren, John Chatfield of Los Angeles, Amanda Newman (Shane) of Willacoochee, Georgia and Joe Chatfield of Culloden; and his great grandchildren, Austin, Mallory Newman, Jack, Alex and Luke Chatfield.
