He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Johnston and Joan Brandt Kohlmeyer; his granddaughter Brooke Hamlett; his son-in-law David Goins; and his stepfather Lou Kohlmeyer.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Fendryk Johnston of Thomaston; and his children, Lorie Goins of Molena, Cassie Hamlett (Keith) of Thomaston and Steven Johnston (Sherri) of Molena. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
