He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl James, Sr. and Myrna Ruth Grant Reid; and his siblings, John Van Beek, Gail Cox and Marsha Holder.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Reid (Chandla), Earl James Reid, III (Sandra) and Cameron Reid (Jen); his grandchildren, Megan Calicott (Caleb), Haleigh Reid, Kendall Reid, Shalynn Reid and Earl James "Possum" Reid, IV; his great grandchild Emmalie Calicott; his siblings, Gary "Nicky" Van Beek (Darlene) of Griffin, Tim Carney of Griffin, Nancy Davis of Williamson, Janice Lyons (Alan) of Griffin and Betty Jane Morris of Griffin; the mother of his children Candis Reid of Hampton; and his caregivers, Debbie Waters Sorrells and Fernando Velera. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
