He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Ard and Albertina Matthews Ard; and his wife Betty McCullough Ard. He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Ard (Edgar Ard Jr.); and his siblings, Jack Loncoln Ard Jr. Aubrey, Judson Lee Ard, Byron Ard, Sara Annette Sandefur, Clara Daphene Carraway, Faith Elaine Walton, Willie Mavis Garner, Karen Laverne Coggins and Frances Gennelle Royal. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren.
