Hazel Barfield Hammock Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Barfield Hammock (Thomaston, Georgia), who passed away on September 8, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Lee Hammock; her parents, Bennett B. Barfield and Mary Elizabeth Sewell Barfield; and her brothers, Joseph, Jackie and Robert Barfield.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Hammock Wainwright (Murrah) of Thomaston, Janice Hammock Clay Mitchell (Marcus) of Thomaston, Caren Hammock Yates (Keith) of Thomaston and Mary Painter Clay; and her grandchildren, Richie Clay (Jodie) of Sharpsburg, Kim Wainwright Baker (Dennis) of Montgomery, Carla Clay Crider (Jerry) of Newnan, Jason Wainwright (Tracy) of Thomaston, Chet Yates (Kelly) of Thomaston, Mitch Yates of Thomaston and Jerica Yates of Thomaston. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family asks that social distancing guidelines be observed at both the funeral home and the graveside.
