He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. and Chastain, Sr. (Essie Mae McKinney Chastain); and his brother John A. Chastain, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Ann Chastain of Thomaston; his sons, David "Andy" Chastain of Thomaston and Matthew Chastain (Courtney) of Carrollton, GA; his brother Gerald Chastain of Thomaston; and his grandchildren, Katie McClain (Adam), Lindsey Chastain (Kush Bhagat), Jacob Chastain, Tyson Chastain and Anna Chastain. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
