She was predeceased by: her parents, C. M. Hammack and Vera Elizabeth Geeslin; her husband Joe Wheeler Johnson Jr.; and her sister Christine McDaniel. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Grant Johnson of Griffin and David Wayne Johnson (Sandra) of Hogansville. She is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Gideon Bibles at P.O. Box 1034 Thomaston, GA 30286.
