He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Jones and Elizabeth Johnson Jones; and his sister Claudia Jones. He is survived by: his wife Julie M. Jones; his children, Scott Jones, Dixie McKinney (Andrew) and Ashley Thompson (Carter); and his grandchildren, Rhett Thompson, Kelsey Mazzara (Jacob), Zachary Stockwell, Christopher Stockwell, Jr. (Alyssa), Layla Jones and Liam Jones.
