He was predeceased by: his parents, William Horace Thompson, Sr. and Lizzie Lou McKinley Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Clarice Blackston Thompson; his children, Mark (Lee Ann), Paul Thompson (Tamara), Renee Shingler (Ronny) and Mike Watson; his siblings, Charles Thompson (Mary Alice), Betty Sue Wilson (Wesley), Sarah Hearn (Jimmy), Linda Walker (Larry) and Joyce Waller; and his grandchildren, Theresa Snead (Marcus), John Thompson (Ashley), Caroline Cox (Brian), Elizabeth Mitchell (Chase), Mary Katherine Ledford (Zachary), Rachael Holloman (Tommy) and Ryan Shingler (Katy). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
