He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny F. Thompson and Carolyn Black Patty. He is survived by: his daughters, Sonya Shuman (Kevin) of East Point and Cindy Thompson of Thomaston; his siblings, Sydney Thompson of Covington and Shelia Gail Patty of Warm Springs; his granddaughters, Lily Thompson, Olivia Prudente and Mary Kate Thomas; and his close friend Bill Kirkland.
